Level 3 and Level 4
Welcome to Level 3 and Level 4 at Deepdene Primary School.
Children at this level are becoming more independent learners and actively participate in a variety of programs. Teachers encourage students to develop good study habits and organisational skills.
The curriculum follows the guidelines of the Australian Curriculum and Victorian Essential Learning Standards (AusVELS) with an emphasis on integrated learning.
The units of work are taught over two years and these include:

3. Gizmos and Gadgets
4. Bound for Australia
5. What's the Matter?
6. Castle Capers
7. Australians, Who Are We?
8. Our Spinning Planet
Students actively participate in weekly Performing Arts/Music, Visual Arts, Physical Education, Library. LOTE and ICT sessions.
Level 3 students take part in a Swimming Program and participate in a 3 - 6 Swimming Carnival in Term Four.
Level 3 students participate in an overnight stay at a campsite where they learn about the environment. Level 4 participate in a two night Adventure Camp to Camp Rumbug in Term Two. Students in Level 3 and Level 4 participate in a range of fitness activities, including House Athletics and Swimming Sports. Children perform in a Concert Series that fosters positive interactions across Level 3 to 6.
At this level, students are also given the opportunity to participate in Festival Singers, Ensembles, Chess Club and Drama Club. Each class has two Student Representative Council (SRC) members who meet regularly with teachers to organise and discuss charity fundraising days at school.
